Something Fishy but Healthy

Fish is essential in a healthy diet. They contain many healthy ingredients that are vital for the normal functions of the human body. Fish contains high levels of protein, omega 3 fatty acids, and vitamin D. In addition, fish is low in fat and may help reduce the risk of disease like childhood asthma and prostate cancer. Many studies prove that fish oils play a major role in the prevention or treatment of heart disease because of the presence of omega 3 fatty acids. These fatty acids are known to reduce blood triglycerides (main component of vegetable and animal oil), blood pressure, inflammation, and abnormal heart rhythms. Many studies also show that omega-3 fatty acids help reduce the risk of dementia, arthritis, asthma, and kidney disease.

Childcare – Knowing Which Provider Suits the Home

Both parents that are employed have become a common setup in most families today. The society has become open-minded with the need for mothers to help provide for the family. Thus, proper child-rearing has been a strong and primary concern for working parents especially if children have reached the school age. The parents’ responsibility is to find reputable institutions or individuals which will provide the proper childcare that the children needs.

The 2006 World Cup Soccer Outlook

From the 9th of June to the 9th of July, the excitement and fan frenzy builds to a deafening crescendo. Soccer fanatics are on high alert. It is time to defend to no end the pride of Region and Country. This is big. No, its bigger than big. Considering the fact that soccer is the most popular sport in the world today, it is no jaw-dropping surprise that Soccer’s World Cup is actually the largest sporting event on the planet. Based on sheer numbers, fan attendance, television ratings, number of viewers, travel revenue, ticket sales and media coverage; there is no sporting event that even comes close to this one. If you take the NCAA Basketball Tournament, the World Series, the Super Bowl and the Olympics and add them all together, it would still not be as big as the World Cup! Three and a half billion people will be watching this tournament unfold in at least a dozen locations in Germany in 2006. Strangely enough, the past World Cup events have been all but ignored in the United States. This is rapidly changing as Americans get more familiar with this action-packed sport.

Should I Hire A Caterer

So you have decided to throw a party. Great, now its time to consider all of the things you must do to make it a success. You need to make a guest list, plan decorations, arrange for a DJ, etc, etc. The list goes on and on but one of the most important tasks is arranging for the food. Food and drink will make or break your party. The question you must decide is are you going to hire a caterer or are you going to handle the food yourself. There are pluses and minuses to both.

Catering Yourself
If you decide to cater the party yourself, you will of course save money. Caterers can be expensive and they make up a considerable portion of a parties budget. If you are having a relatively small gathering, it is probably not worth hiring one. You might be better off just buying a few party trays from your grocery store or a favorite restaurant.
Another reason to not hire a caterer is that you will be able to serve exactly what you want, not just what the caterer has to offer. You can have the exact foods that you and

Identifying Profit Centers.

Copyright 2006 business-cards.com

The books you keep as part of the administration of any business will undoubtedly include a profit & loss calculation, (or P&L). This, of course, is of central importance as it tells you if you’re making money or going nowhere fast!

Lets presume you’re business sells a range of products and/or services and that you are in fact trading profitably. Have you ever taken this process several steps further and identified just what products make up the lions share of those profits?

When business people do this analysis, they are often very surprised at the results. Here is a case in point.

Bill runs a small suburban motel. When he first began his business he simply offered rooms and nothing else. After several years he now offers a mini bar in each room as well as meals in a restaurant, and laundry services. Bill appreciates that his guests wanted these facilities but he feels that they cause him a lot of extra work. He always simply assumed that his major profit centre was the accommodation. After all it contributed over 75% of the revenue. On the advice of his accountant, Bill conducts a profit center

AMC, University of Colorado Cancer Centers Merge

The AMC Cancer Research Center has merged with the University of Colorado Cancer Center, a step designed to help both organizations in their efforts to fight the disease.

The AMC, a nonprofit research institute located in Lakewood, Colo., will continue as an independent foundation devoted to financial support for research in cancer causation, prevention and control at the University of Colorado.

The merger also is designed to help increase philanthropic community support for cancer research, according to Dr. Al Marcus, interim scientific director at AMC.

“Combining efforts with the university makes both organizations stronger,” says Marcus. “Not only will this enhance our ability to share research approaches and resources, but it will increase grant funding and fundraising opportunities as well. The relocation will facilitate collaborations and provide access to the state-of-the-art facilities.”

AMC was originally founded as the Jewish Consumptive Relief Society in 1904, a charitable hospital and research center that treated patients with tuberculosis. In the 1950s, when that disease was brought under control, the society changed its name to the American Medical Center and directed its sizable resources to the treatment and research of cancer.

Until 1989, AMC was a hospital as well as a

The Nutritional Benefits of Folic Acid

The debate about the necessity of taking dietary supplements is still alive. While numerous doctors maintain we get all that we require from the foods we eat, others prefer to offer supplementary vitamins when their patients are under stress such as pregnancy, illness or even aging.

Studies have shown that taking supplementary B group vitamins, specifically folic acid and B12 have reduced birth defects from 72 to 100%. Since regulations authorizing the addition of folic acid to grains have come into play, the incidence of birth defects in the United States has lessened by 19%, though skeptics claim there could be alternate reasons.

- Symptoms of folate deficiency.

If your tongue is swollen and you suffer from loss of appetite, shortness of breath, are irritable, forgetful and mentally sluggish, you may have a folate deficiency. Folic acid is one of the B group of vitamins. Most animal and plant foods are poor sources of it. The exception is liver which most folks do not eat a lot of these days.

Various habits and diseases also play a greater share in causing a lack of this vitamin. Celiac disease, alcoholism and irritable bowel syndrome just to name a few.

Olns Playoff Hockey Coverage Doesnt Make The Cut

Like many hockey fans. I was just happy that hockey was back this year. I didnt care that ESPN didnt renew their TV contract with the NHL – I figured OLN might have a few hiccups, but overall they would do fine. I was wrong. OLN has been a disaster all season long and its not getting better.

I understand that they have never done the NHL before and that they only had a few months to hire announcers, camera crews, build a set, etc. But the worst part about it is that they havent been improving and learning from their mistakes. The broadcasts are still as mediocre as they were on opening night.

After watching the opening weekend of the 2006 NHL Playoffs, here are my thoughts:

- The camera angles are mediocre at best. The camera for the first 10 minutes of the Red Wings vs. Oilers Game 1 was zoomed out to the point where I could see the entire ice. This would be great except for the fact that its IMPOSSIBLE to see the puck or read a jersey number (and no, Im not watching on a 13 TV). They fixed it a

Quick Cash Loans The Real Cost

So many numbers are thrown around when talking about cash advances, also called payday loans, that it can be hard to know what the real cost is. What you actually pay for your payday loan is usually a financing fee rather than an interest rate. APR is used to compare the yearly cost of such a loan, even though payday loans are usually repaid in less than 17 days.

Financing Fees

Most cash advance companies charge finance fees.rather than interest in order to get around some state laws. Finance fees are usually charged on a pay period schedule of two weeks, although some companies have a shorter or longer repayment periods.

For a cash advance of $100, you can expect to pay around $15 in finance fees. Some lenders charge more or less, so it pays to compare rates. Online lenders usually post their rates or APR, so you can research lenders in minutes.

If you dont repay your loan when it is due, you can roll it over. You add on finance fees for the additional time. You have to be careful with this option. If you put off repayment too many times, you can end up

Personal Loans Uk

The UK is a nation of debtors. It is estimated that 15 million people in the UK are struggling with personal debt, while in 2004 some 46,000 people filed for bankruptcy with personal debts running at an average of more than 50,000. Despite these figures though, we continue to borrow on loans and finance agreements, mainly because it is still very cheap to do so.

Competitive personal loans rates

With the Internet making personal loans more accessible it is now easier than ever to apply for a personal loan. Just a quick glance online reveals that adverts for personal loans are everywhere. In fact, the competition between lenders is so fierce that many personal loans now come with added benefits such as discounted interest rates, air miles and even free insurance products to entice customers to choose a particular loan.

Loans companies too are relaxing their lending criteria, opening up personal loans to people who they may not have been willing to consider some five or ten years ago. Adding to the incentives for the borrower to apply for loans is the fact that the base interest rate has maintained a relatively steady course over the past few years,
